"I see rings of shimmering light, framed by a triangle of slightly arced bamboo. I approach the light, and the calm and poise of the structure begin to collapse as the legs bend inwards and the light shakes. Nervously, I enter the light, and stand still. The space receives me, breathes out, and relaxes."
Grove is a physical installation that doubles as an interactive object and an abstract, malleable space.
The boundaries of grove's space are defined by its physical presence, by the rings of light circumscribed on the floor below the structure, and by the areas that fall within range of the three infrared sensors that allow grove to see visitors as they approach.
