NOTE: file is 22MB. please be patient. one segment of the completed "Small Global" installation. this map animation illustrates the spread of McDonalds franchises from the first, opened in Des Plaines, IL in 1955, to the worldwide McDonalds geography into the projected future. data for this animation were taken from various sources, including mcdonalds.com and mcspotlight.org. the data were painted to a brightness map, generated in photoshop, and then brought into processing and animated to produce the final piece. |
