this version of contemplace is a graphics-only version of the full installation, which is a spatial installation with projected graphics and four-channel audio. this prototype includes the features i use for debugging, which are outlined below:

[space bar] toggle 'mood grid' :: this is a graphic representation of contemplace's mood at a given time. there are six moods, organized on two axes. the x axis moves from 'introverted' to 'extroverted', while the y axis maps to 'friendly', 'indifferent', and 'hostile'.

[mouse click] set current mood :: clicking on the area of the 'mood grid' will instantly set the mood to the point clicked.

[mouse move] move visitors :: this is a simulation of the webcam shadow tracking. only the extroverted moods (those on the right side of the mood grid) respond to this.

[keys 0-9] place and move visitors :: this is a simulation of the floor sensor grid. press a number key to instantiate a virtual visitor, and move the mouse with the key held down to move the visitor. only the introverted moods (those on the left side of the mood grid) respond to this.

[shift+keys 0-9] remove visitors :: hold shift and press a number key to remove a visitor.

[backspace] remove all visitors :: remove all visitors at once.
